I work with you to solve behavioural issues/challenges that your dog has and give you the practical tools and techniques to overcome these problems and make your lives happier together. All sessions will be held at your home but may sometimes be conducted at alternative locations to help socialise and expose your dog to different environments and situations.
As the guardian of a nervous and anxious dog, I understand the frustration and struggles that many of you may have experienced with your dog. Whether you raised a puppy or have adopted an older dog, unwanted behavioural patterns can emerge that make living with your best friend frustrating.
Determining the underlying cause of unwanted reactions towards other dogs, people, and situations can be challenging. My goal as a dog trainer is to help you and your dog develop new life skills through activities that teach optimism, confidence, focus, and calmness. I want you to reconnect with your dog and make your lives more peaceful.
Depending on your dog's struggles, dog training takes time and especially patience. There is no quick fix, but by using the techniques taught daily, you can build your dog’s confidence and develop the life skills necessary to make better decisions that will improve your relationship.
A fresh approach
Embarking on the journey of dog ownership is undeniably rewarding, but it can also present its fair share of challenges. Behavioural struggles can often leave you feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed. This is where an initial online consultation with Tom from Heeling Hounds can truly be a game-changer.
Articulating your dog’s struggles
An initial consultation provides a safe, judgement-free space for you to articulate your dog’s behavioural issues. It’s a chance to express your concerns, share your observations, and ask any questions you may have. This open dialogue sets the stage for a collaborative approach to addressing these challenges.
Expert guidance and understanding
Once you’ve articulated your concerns, Tom can offer expert advice tailored to your dog’s specific needs. This personalised guidance can be invaluable in kick-starting your dog’s transformational journey. Whether it’s teaching concepts such as calmness or disengagement, addressing separation-related behaviours, or managing reactivity, a professional trainer can provide strategies and techniques that you can implement at home.
A pathway to a better relationship with your dog
Most importantly, an initial online consultation can pave the way for a stronger, healthier bond between you and your dog. By understanding and addressing behavioural issues, you’re not just solving problems – you’re fostering trust, understanding, and mutual respect. This is the foundation of a truly transformative journey, one that benefits both you and your four-legged friend.
Why am I doing only online consultations?
Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with cancer, had to have a major surgical procedure, and I am now recovering and on chemotherapy until the end of December 2026. While I cannot meet you and your wonderful doggos, I can still assist you with your dog-owning struggles in practical ways that will get your transformation plans started or direct you to another specialist trainer if the issues you are having warrant a face-to-face appointment.
